Ticks & Mosquitos
Tick and Mosquito Information:
We are seeing an 'uptick' in tick borne viruses this year so to protect yourself from tick bites, do the following:
- Use repellent with DEET on clothing, camping gear, shoes (not on skin and not on children under 2 yrs of age).
- Wear light colored pants tucked into socks/boots when out of doors and a long sleeved shirt.
- Stay on cleared trails when hiking and out of the dunes on beaches.
- Treat your pets with tick control measures.
- Check yourself and family thoroughly after outdoors activities, paying particular attention to warm, moist areas and remember ticks can be very small, the size of a poppy seed.
